Reported Toast processing-rate increase for September 2026

Public merchant-services reports say Toast notified many customers about a 0.20 percentage-point increase on certain card-present processing rates beginning in September 2026. This report has not been independently confirmed through a public Toast pricing notice, and individual merchant pricing may differ.

What could this mean for a merchant?

A 0.20 percentage-point increase equals approximately $20 more for every $10,000 in affected card volume. At $50,000 in affected monthly volume, that is approximately $100 more per month—or $1,200 per year—before considering other rates, fixed transaction charges or account fees.

What should Toast merchants review?

Check your email notices, processing agreement and recent monthly statements. Compare the effective rate, card-present pricing, fixed transaction fees, software charges and any contract requirements. Your own written notice and statement are the controlling documents.
